2025 SellaRonda Bike Days Roads Closed – September
Tour Dates: 11/9/2025 > 15/9/2025What exactly is Sella Ronda Bike Day and when is it you may ask.
Well it happens twice a year June and September in Corvara , the home of the Maratona. It give cyclists a traffic free day which is heaven. It’s a great moment in time for cyclist to ride 4 fantastic climbs CAR FREE and it’s not a Gran Fondo just an enjoyable car free day in the mountains. There are many riders who do not enjoy Gran Fondo’s , so now’s you chance to start and finish between the times below car free.
The roads will be closed to traffic from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m , enabling you to climb , Passo Gardena , Passo Sella , Passa Pordio and finally Passo Campalongo ALL car free. In saying that the only vehicles authorized to use the passes during the above period of closure are the public services (Police, Carabinieri, ambulances, fire brigade etc.) , in addition the vehicles of the organising committee are also permitted.
Although it’s not a Gran Fondo they still offer a superb supper service.
- Rescue services
Rescue service is guaranteed on the entire route of the Sellaronda Bike Day. An ambulance will be positioned at the top of each pass: Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena and in the following places:
– Miramonti cross roads (between Passo Sella and Passo Gardena)
– Village of Arabba
– Village of Corvara
– Village Pian de Schiavaneis - The Sweeping up service
If you encounter any problems during the event or are forced to stop due to fatigue, do not panic. At the end of the event, a rescue service is guaranteed for those who are no longer able to cycle up the Dolomite passes around the Sella; it will stop at the base and top of each pass, in the villages of Corvara and Arabba and at the Sella/Pordoi and Gardena/Sella crossroads, to facilitate the return of participants. The shuttles will have an identifying sign with the Sellaronda Bike Day logo and “scopa” lettering; in the villages there will be a sign identifying the bus stop.
As well as enjoying the Sella Ronda on the Saturday we will explore the other mountain passes on the other day so we can have a fantastic 4 day trip in the Dolomites.
