2027 Italy Tour – 2 Centres
Your Italian Experience commences the moment you touch down at Marco Polo Venice. You will be greeted by European Cycle Events and taken by coach to your first destination that being Corvara which is in the heart of the Dolomites. It is the home of the famous Maratona Gran Fondo and perfectly set up for the cyclist of today.
We will be staying at the magnificent Capella 5 star hotel which is second to none in Corvara. Our hotel is located 4km up the Passo Gardena which is a stroll compared to all the other climbs in the area and worth every pedal stroke to get to. I personally stay at this hotel each year for the Maratona and I will be amazed if it can be beaten in Corvara.
Your arrival day will be dd/mm/yyyy giving you a number of days to discover the area , then you will be transferred to Bormio on dd/mm/yyyy. Bormio and The Palace Hotel will be familiar to those who came in 2025 and you will not be disappointed. It’s a 4 star hotel with a pool and wellness centre with amazing food and a 5 minute walk to the town centre. I stay at this hotel at least twice if not three times a year.
Your two location adventure finishes on dd/mm/yyyy where you will be transferred to Milan Malpensa Airport Terminal 2 for your return home or onward journey to other locations in Europe.
Should you decide to hire a bike then here are selected bike shops in each location.

Today we expect to be taking on the Sella Ronda course with many other like minded cyclists. We will ride anti-clockwise with the order being Gardena , Sella , Pordoi (where Mr Campag invented the rear mech) and finally the Campalongo. The final climb brings you into the town centre we we can stop for food and the 4km up to our hotel.
This course is actually the short course of the Maratona in reverse and covers 55km (don’t be fooled by the distance) as it’s 1650 metes elevation and 4 passes, you can do two loops if you want !

Cortina is a famous ski station and hosts some of the events for the 2026 winter Olympics and lovely place. First climb of the day will be the Valparolo followed by a shallow part of the and Falzargo and onto Cortina for lunch. After lunch we will then retrace our steps back to Corvara.
Todays ride will be covering circa 80km – 100km
Maratona , Passo Valparolo.
Today we will be riding to the top off the Passo Giau a famous climb that scales over 2200+ meters and very testing covering 10km. We will refuel at the top the ride should cover circa 90km. On our return we will climb the Falzago – short climb.
Today you will travel down the valley road for some time , entering one short 400m tunnel so please have your lights even though it’s reasonably lit. Upon exit it’s a short further roll down before you see the name of the pass and a left turn Passo Delle Erbe. This pass is a hidden gem and little known as it’s down the valley road, it’s only been used 3 times in the Giro and should be used more often.
After your 13km climb you will be greeted at the top with two locations to eat , one each side on the road, we used the one on the right in 2024 and it was great. As this road is a pass we will go over the top and route our way back to the hotel.
Today we will be taking on the Sella Ronda clockwise this time to experience the key climbs the other way , this is more noticeable when climbing the Passo Pordoi
Altitude difference “Sellaronda Bike Day”: 1.650 m
