Well the true history of this race was devised by these two famous wine makers back in 1897.

The Gran Fondo starts and finishes in Siena with 30kms riding on the famous white gravel roads.
Our base is perfectly placed in the town centre, just 500 meters from the start line and central to explore bella Siena. This trip has something for everybody, both cyclist and non-cycling partners alike. A pro race, an Italian Gran Fondo, shopping and history, you really do have it all in Siena. The trip is on a bed and breakfast basis, as there are so many places to choose from to eat in the town of Sienna instead staying on the hotel.
We are offering two hotels in our packages one being a 3 star and the ONLY 5-star hotel in Siena please note both hotels DO NOT include evening meal, as Siena has so many places to choose from to have an evening meal.
When is it?
Friday 5th March 2027 to Monday 8th March 2027 – 3 nights.
Your Strade Bianche challenge is on Sunday 7th March 2027
Watch the pro race on Saturday and then you too will race on the white roads of Siena Tuscany, a truly magical way to start your season.
Race Pack Collection
As you have booked with us you will not be required to queue up for ages with all the other riders to collect your race pack, plus it wont be there at the sign on tent !
Race Packs can be collected at either of the two hotels below at the times specified. They MUST be collected in person , a friend can not collect it for you and we require ID to be shown on arrival – eg driving licence / passport.
If you can not make these times for collection DO NOT book with us , this is new for 2027 as requested by the organisers. This is to prevent riders passing over their entry to a friend and the friend has not got a medical certificate or booked.
We suggest you collect your race pack on Friday , just in case you need to change your jersey and they have some available and allow it.

Weekends Plan ?
Friday – Arrival , unpack , eat where you like in Siena , visit Expo
Saturday – Various options ,Visit Expo , watch the Women’s Pro Race Start , the the Mens Pro race start , ride out with us to see the two races on the course and get back in time for the finish. Or stay in town and take in the atmosphere of Sienna and grab a coffee and wait for the finishes. In the evening there are many places to choose from to eat.
Sunday – Gran Fondo Start at 07:30 for the short and 09:00 for the long.
Monday – leave 12:00 midday , meet outside the Albergo Chiusarelli Hotel

Coach Service for Entry Only Clients
If you have booked an entry only and would like a coach transfer you can book that with us. Please see the times of coach transfers on our site. The coach drops off and picks in the Siena Town Centre only , we do not arrange drops off and pick ups to other locations.
This service is to and from Pisa Airport , please read our coach transfer times before booking – available on this page.
Cancellation refund is available up to 28 days from booking date less 25% admin fee.
