An excellent trip. Bormio is an amazing location from which to explore the Italian Alps. There’s literally a sign outside the hotel from where you can turn left and you’re on the Passo Stelvio, or right and you’re beginning the Passo Gavia. The Mortirolo is down the valley, and there are loads of other great climbs from which to pick. Dudley knows the area so well, and can advise you on cycling routes, climbs, food, coffee and kit. The hotel is lovely – great food, nice pool, and well set up for cycling. Everything is taken care of, so you get a weekend of great riding … and with loads of support from Dudley so you don’t get caught cold (literally) on top of the Stelvio. I would thoroughly recommend this trip.
Can’t say enough great things about this trip, the organization, transportation and accommodations.
EVERYTHING was amazing! The riding was challenging with spectacular views and cyclist friendly traffic.
The hotel was comfortable and accommodating. The food was to die for and the service was excellent at our hotel. The town of Bormio itself is gorgeous and very tourist friendly but not at all over crowded.
All in all a fantastic vacation! We climbed the Stelvio from both sides, the Gavia and the Mortirolo as well as several other iconic local climbs. Our bucket list is complete 🙂
The other cyclists on the trip were a blast and we really enjoyed ourselves.
We can’t wait to go back and do it all again. Dudley was a great resource for us – highly recommend this experience to any adventurous cyclist.
