What is the Nove Colli Sportive?
It was 20th May 1971 at 5 am and just 17 pioneers took on an adventure. The start? It was at the historic location of Bar del Corso, the ancient base of the association. That is where the story begins for the Nove Colli (9 climbs). The event I believe is the longest running Gan Fondo in Italy and it’s 52nd edition in May 2023. The event start and finishes in Marco Pantani’s home town of Cesenatico. The event offers two distances for riders 130km – 4 climbs and and 205km all 9 climbs. The Nove Colli sportive (nine hills) is the most popular sportive in Italy with the locals supporting riders all along the route cheering you on. The event is run on closed giving you the chance to fully enjoy yourself and take in the surroundings without having to worry about a car coming around the corner! Rules,Regulations,Licence,Medical Certificate
The participant must supply us with a medical certificate that covers the event date along with a British Cycling Licence (Bronze) for CYCLING (NO Triathlon, no athletics or other disciplines). Although you would have sent us copies in advance , you must still bring those documents with you. If you do not have a licence then you can pay on the day € 10 – personally I always have a British Cycling Licence – Bronze.

Where are we staying / Hotel / Cost
We couldn’t be staying at a better hotel / location our choice is the Lungomare Hotel 4 star hotel, perfectly located.
The Lungomare could not be more perfect for cyclists , they have been hosting riders for more years than they can remember , here is what’s offered.
- Guided daily excursions in different groups with different levels of difficulty and intensity

- Entrance to the wellness centre according to the current regulations of use
- Jersey of Lungomare Bike Hotel
- Large bike room (for over 130 bicycles), safe and video-monitored. The bike room is also equipped with a washing area, small repairs and a compressor
- Free access to the outdoor pool with whirlpool, salinised and heated to 29C° from March to November, ideal for relax and for triathletes
- Free Wifi
- Panoramic fitness room with sea view and Technogym equipment
- Assistance in case of accidents or faults

Flight arrivals & departures
We will be flying into Bologna airport in Italy
Outbound
The coach leaves the Airport 12:30 midday – please ensure you are through customs by 12:00 (midday)
Return
The coach leaves the hotel at 11:00 , it’s circa 1 hour coach journey so please factor this in when booking your return flight.

- British Cycling Licence number (Gold, Silver or Bronze)
- Date of birth
- Medical Certificate, date to be current with this event
