Elevation 1.980 m
Distance 87,3 km
Start Time 09.00am
Timed section Cavalese – Passo Lavazè , 10,4 km • 798 m
This is a relatively short stage , as the opening stage this is helpful . Departing from HQ Bolzano in the direction of San Giacomo and Laives, we travel along roads with little traffic as far as Ora, where the road climbs with several hairpin bends and then opens out onto a natural terrace. With a slight gradient we reach the Lugano Pass (border between South Tyrol and Trentino) and then you descend to Cavalese, the main village of the Val di Fiemme Valley. Here begins the climb to Passo Lavazè, which is the timed section of this stage. On reaching the finish, the road descends to Novale/Rauth, where it turns right to tackle the demanding ascent to Obereggen, the well-known ski and hiking resort at the foot of the Latemar mountain. After this last effort, a long descent to Bolzano awaits us, day one is over a steady intro. Stage_1 Profile

Start Time 09.00am
Timed section Selva Val Gardena – Passo Sella | 10,4 km • 704 m
This is where it your day at the office just stepped up a gear. An amazing stage around the Sella group that any cyclist should have done at least once in his or her life. The fatigue of the ascent to the four passes is compensated by the fun descents while the eyes admire the green pastures and the majesty of the shimmering mountains that surround us. Once the group has reached Passo Gardena where the timed section to the Sella Pass begins, everyone must find the right cadence in order not only to conquer the Sella, but also to have the strength for the other three passes, namely the Pordoi Pass, the Campolongo Pass and the Gardena Pass, which after the summit finish gives way to an almost interminable descent to Bolzano. These passes are used in the short event of the Maratona , so if you have ridden that event you know what you will be in for – a great day in the saddle Stage_2 Profile

Elevation – 1.893 m
Distance – 63,7 km
Start Time h. 9.00
Timed Section Prato allo Stelvio – Passo Stelvio 23,2 km • 1.808 m
Today stage could be described as an easier day , when relating it to distance compared to yesterdays stage. You will be transferred from Bolzano to Prato dello Stelvio where refreshments awaits you before starting the legendary climb up the Stelvio Pass. As soon as you start the timed section begins , this is a long climb so pacing is key to tackle the switchbacks which get harder the higher you get. You will tackle the 48 turns on the South Tyrolean side. It is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most impressive roads in the world! Not for nothing is it called “the Queen of Alpine roads.” The road was built between 1820 and 1928 as an alternative route between Tyrol and Lombardy region, then Austro-Hungarian territory. At the top we descend toward Bormio and after circa 3km you turn right and take the Umbrail Pass (Giogo di S. Maria), on the border between Italy and Switzerland. On Swiss territory we descend to S.Maria Münstair where we enter the Monastero Valley that takes us back to Italy. Having reached the town of Glorenza, it is only a short distance to the starting point off this stage. Stage_3 Profile

Timed Section Penia – Lago di Fedaia 7,3 km • 504 m
This stage takes us to the foot of the highest mountain in the Dolomites, Marmolada, 3,343 m.a.s.l. covered with the only glacier ice in the Dolomites. After tackling the long ascent that leads from Bolzano to the Carezza Pass, we descend into the Fassa Valley, then we ride to Canazei to join the SS 641 that takes us over the Fedaia Pass. In Penia is the starting line for the timed section, a stretch that is not particularly long but no less challenging than the previous ones, ending on the dam of Lake Fedaia, at the foot of the Marmolada. The return follows the way of the outward journey to the Costalunga Pass where we head on a false flat to the Nigra Pass and then quickly descend to Tires and continue on to Prato Isarco where we find ourselves back on the SS 12 leading to Bolzano. The final stage is somewhat shorter than recent stages but do not estimate it. This stage takes us to the Salten Plateau, known as the home of the Haflinger horses famous for their blond manes. First, however, we must tackle the climb from Bolzano to San Genesio, which is the timed section in this stage. Once past the finish line, the road runs over the ‘Salten plateau” passing through Mölten/Meltina and offering a varied and impressive panorama. Stage_5 Profile
