This event maybe in its early years but like all Italian events it is very well supported and organised. The event is classified as an endurance ride starting in Milan (06:00) and travels its way to the Stelvio Pass (20:00). There are two distances, one that finishes at the base of the Stelvio and the other finishes at the top, 207km and 230km respectively , but I guess you would want to finish at the top of the Stelvio , who wouldn’t. One key objective is you have to be into Bormio checkpoint by 17:00 to be supported to the top of the Stelvio and the finish time is 20:00 Please click the tabs below for all the information you may need.
The Duomo-Stelvio route is straight forward – you leave Piazza Duomo aiming (first) towards Monza, then Lecco and continue towards Colico alongside Lake Como. Once you reach the Adda river, the route follows the Valtellina bike path for 100 beautiful kilometres to the base of Passo Stelvio in Bormio. From there riders start the 21.8 kilometres, with an elevation difference 1534 metres, topping out @ 2758 meters.
The participant must behave in a respectful manor and adhere to the road traffic rules (highway code) and in no case and for no reason, must violate them.
The participant must wear correct clothing ,it is mandatory to wear a protective helmet and be personally equipped for everything necessary for the completion of the Duomo-Stelvio ( these would be lights , spare inner tubes, power bank for the navigator, tyre leavers, pump, C02, multi tool).
The participant must supply us with a medical certificate that covers the event date along with a British Cycling Licence (Bronze) for CYCLING (NO Triathlon, no athletics or other disciplines). Although you would have sent us copies in advance , you must still bring those documents with you.
